Online Resources for Bassoonists

Charles Double Reed Supply (North Conway, New Hampshire)
Website: http://www.charlesmusic.com
By far my favorite site! They have reasonable prices on everything and have great “beginner” student cane for reed makers. I really like the tone and cut of the cane that comes GSP, however watch that it’s a little on the light side. They also have cool gifts. They make super neat reed cases from old cigarette cases… It’s just an awesome site!
Forrests Music (Berkley, California)
Website: http://www.forrestsmusic.com/
Great source for sheet music and other interesting things. Cool gifts, cool ideas, great site.
RDG Woodwinds (Los Angeles, California)
Website: http://www.rdgwoodwinds.com
Very good quality cane for making reeds, but be cautious, things tend to be a bit on the expensive side....
Womble Williams Double Reed Supplies (Detroit, Michigan)

This site has the most competitive prices for FOX bassoons. They also run specials very often and you can get good deals on large purchase amounts. CAUTION: Before purchasing a bassoon, plan to drive to Indiana and try out the instruments first.
Bassoon Sitter, Wooden Bassoon Stands (Oakland, Michigan)
My father makes affordable, sturdy, QUALITY handmade bassoon stands. They’re really very nice, in one piece and durable. They are more competitvely priced than most metal ones you may purchase. I use mine often, they’re a wonderful, reliable tool. Contact me direct for details.
